No application for reading comics?

I downloaded some of the free comics from the PSN store but have no way of reading them on the device. A search online shows that there is an Extras option on the XMB but it's not on my device?! I have the latest firmware. Has anyone else had this problem?

Sony discontinued the Digital Comics service and app back in 2011, that's why the app and the Extras menu don't appear on the PSP anymore. :smileysad:

If that's the case then why the comic store still accessible? It's a bit annoying...

Re: No application for reading comics?

There used to be weekly updates for the comic store, like the game and video stores get now, but Sony stopped updating the comic store last year, so if it's still online then i'm guessing that Sony might be planning to do something else with it in the future. :smileyhappy:

I did know the updates had stopped but to remove the application to allow one to view existing purchases?!?

Re: No application for reading comics?

*cough* workaround *cough* If you manage to download the comic reader from another source and place it in the GAME folder on your memory stick then you can access it from there :smileywink: It's the old trick for getting Go! Messenger to work until they removed its server. :smileysad:

Re: No application for reading comics?

You can get the app from the PlayStation Website and transfer from PC to PSP, enjoy the comics

I tried this but the EXTRA menu doesn't appear on the XMB? The file is in place as described... :smileyfrustrated:
