Suggestion for the next PSP firmware

Hi all.

Im new here and i have a suggestion for the next PSP firmware regarding music playback. The first is could Sony incorporate a Walkman type UI in the music part. Like either replace the music application or keep the music application and have the Walkman part downloadable.

The second is could Sony incorporate custom EQs and Mega Bass like on Sony-Ericsson phones?

Thanks,

Re: Suggestion for the next PSP firmware

For me the next firmware update needs to have an improved web browser (with better support for websites such as youtube etc), also they should take their cue from the Opera mini browser which I use on my mobile phone which works 50 times better than the psp browser (and can open all websites! Unlike the PSP which gives you an out of memory error :smileyfrustrated:)

I'd also like to be able to link my PS3 account to my PSP and access my friends list and other playonline features on the go.

I like the idea of a better UI for the music player. What I'd really like to see is a proper playlist feature (not the crappy .m3u file crap that you can use at the minute)

I'd also like to be able to edit the names/folders on my PSP through my PSP...i don't want to have to plug it in or use a memory card reader to be able to rename some tracks.

How about a remote play feature that allows me to transfer music/photos/videos from my psp to my ps3? I have a psp and although I have a 2gb memory stick in it I like to take lots of videos and I sometimes run out of space. If I could send videos wirelessly using remote play then that would be great.

How about an updated input system that mirrors the PS3 keyboard input. The PSP one is annoying at best and could benefit from an overhaul.

Ummm.... i think that's about it for my wishlist :smileyvery-happy:

Yeah, something similar to an Ipod interface would be good!

Re: Suggestion for the next PSP firmware

What I would like to see even more, is a fix to one of the most annoying bugs I have encountered on the system:

When you rip a music cd to your PS3 then transfer it to your PSP it rearranges all the songs on the album to alphabetical order. Why on earth does it do this? No one want's to listen to an album in alphabetical order. They are supposed to be listened in that order they were first arranged on the album. This is a most annoying problem with electronic or classical music where someone has gone through a lot of trouble to make the songs transfer to the next one seamlessly. Of course one could always add after ripping to the beginning of the song titles 001, 002, 003 etc... or not.

I would also like to see:

  • Improved music application - or connectivity with existing applications
  • Custom EQs
  • Greater variety of music visualisations - how long have people been asking for this?!

I almost forgot the most important thing...

The ability to access the Playstation Store directly through my PSP without having to use a computer.  I would love to be able to browse the store and then buy and download direct to my PSP using a wireless connection!
