Re: Tattoo's

[ Edited ]

There's some good ones in here. I'd never get a name either, except for my daughters, which I'm still trying to design one each for them. My next one is all designed, just awaiting funding lol...... It's going to cover my left forearm, and incorporates some of the tekoteko (those wooden carved faces on the meeting house) from my Marae, surrounded by koru (the swirly bits). I've done it all myself, and I'm a bit naughty because I'm not getting the design blessed or anything. Also within the next couple of years will be a nice moko covering my right shoulder and some of the chest and back. Waiting for the timing of when one of the families' carvers + myself are in NZ at the same time...

As for right now, just have an armband, a little star on my chest, and "Aotearoa" in nice old english gansta style across my stomach.

Edit: that's pretty awesome too, Skywarp. With the right shading that'll look badass!

Re: Tattoo's

Been thinking about a tatt for years. Nearly got a Grim Reaper holding an 8 ball out in front of him when I was 18, but the tattooist who was a mates dad asked if I'd want that when I'm 50. Guessed not. Have 2 friends I grew up with doing art ones Brodie Latham, he's working at Artworx in ararat (it's page is on facebook). The others in america 8 months of the year so Brodie is designing me my first.

Re: Tattoo's

I got mine from Greg Ardon in Surrey Hills, Sydney (The Illustrated Man) and Kiwi Kim at Newtown.....she's very good at "cover ups"
When I was young and stupid I got my hands on a tatt gun, proceeded to draw over myself, so of course I needed a couple of cover ups

Now I'm old and stupid :smileytongue:

Thought i'd dig this up seeing as I had a new Tatt done just before xmas for my b'day (at Westside Tattoos).

Here it is when it was freshly done, the colour has faded a bit in some parts so needs going over, but i'm waiting till Winter for that so i'm not missing out on pool time.

The best thing about that symbol is that those who know what it is, know what it is, those that don't, don't. :smileywink:
