I host a regular weekly PS2 online gaming night and XIII has been in the line-up since the very start. Tonight however the Ubisoft part of the network login woulodn't connect (the Sony DNAS stuff was successfully passed).
I subsequently successfully managed connecting to another game (Cold Winter) so I know my PS2 cabling is all correctly hooked up.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem this week. Does anyone know whether Ubisoft have finally closed the servers or is this just a blip?
Thanks in advance.

I'm no help but I had no idea PS2 online was still running. Central Station barely worked properly in 2004 .
I'm surprised any online PS2 game works.
Central Station itself has been offline for quite a few years now. Games that used Central Station PSN IDs like Hardware: Online Arena and Killzone went offline in the 1st half of this year in SCEE regions, but many games didn't use the same method for their online features and some of them are still online.
Also if the game in question has a LAN mode (designed to allow local cable play) you can play it online even if the servers go down via software like XLink Kai (www.teamxlink.co.uk). If you want to nag your favourite developer about something on the current generation of consoles beg them for a LAN mode option to accompany any server-based online play as it future-proofs multiplayer modes.

It was obviously some temporary glitch, one of the night's regulars was able to get onto the servers a few days ago and I am connected as I type this.
Anyone who fancies a game of XIII we normally play around 7pm every Tuesday before moving on to Cold Winter at 7.45pm.
Though this is a regular slot there's been requests to move this PS2 gaming night to a later time slot so keep an eye on our bulletin board http://is.gd/vNlNYN for updates if you ever get the urge for some retro gaming.
