ive just bought a ps2 (fat one) model number SCPH-55006 GT NTSC J its known as ceramic white or snowy white ive not seen one before now i was expecting the usual black one when i went to collect it why are they made white anymore info would be apreciated?

It will definitely be a limited edition version the model number would suggest a japanese model i know in the UK the majority were black and silver models were introduced later when tv equipment etc became mainly fashionably silver in the 2000's. 

There was also blue and pink models introduced later near the end of the PS2's production run there's probably more colours but like the white model you mention probably limited editions.

I wouldn't really know it depends on how many were manufactured.

managed to dig up a couple bits on it they were given to large companys as gift aparently only 666 were made
