Wahey!

All three consoles in mint condition because I'm sad like that. I've had that PlayStation since 1998 too, got it as a 9th birthday present. HaHa!

All my other consoles (Commodore, Nintendo, Sega etc) are all stuffed away in my cupboard somewhere.

The last console I played on was the PS2 for a session of Crash TwinSanity. Hilarious and fun game, if a little difficult and buggy at times.

The photo makes it look worse than it actually is, xenon flash is incredibly bright. Plus the dust is inside the vents so I'd have to take the unit apart. Though I think I might start taking it apart anyway since something is starting to rattle inside. Time to break out the trusty mini screw-driver kit! woo!

I've never had a problem since I got in 2002 so I guess that is why I've neglected cleaning it. Taken it's magical working condition for granted :B
It shouldn't be too hard to clean out, I've done this loads of times before too with my Amiga1200, Commodore64, Colecovision, BBC Micro etc etc. (Jesus I have loads of crap...)

Re: Where Is Your PS2 Now?

My Phat Silver PS2 is still plugged in to my HDTV and gets used for Gran Turismo 4 sessions. I have a brand new boxed Slim PS2 as well. Also I would use my 60gb PS3, but I'm not as when I didn't have much PS3 games back in 2007 I did notice that the PS3 gets hotter playing PS2 games due to emulating the PS2 hardware, so I kept my PS2 and brought the PS2 Slim as a spare last year.

Two hours and fifteen minutes later and it's been disassembled, fixed (screws holding the DVD rom had started to come loose!), cleaned with some dish soap and a sponge, reassembled and it looks like new out of the box! A bit quieter too since the fan doesn't have to work so hard.
