why is it that every online, high street shops dont sell sony ps2's anymore? sony hasnt stated that the ps2 has stop production, or has it?

You wont find any new hardware in the UK anymore it was released in south america last year so any new stock will go to Brazil etc.

yep, they are all gone now, you have to buy second hand if you want a ps2, i have 3 ps2 so i am in no rush to buy one anytime soon

You'd be luckly if you find one brand new in stores dead cheap, but chances on that is a 100 to 1.

Yeah all they have now is used consoles so I hope it isn't a problem in the future I need a new slim rather than used!

Probably because sales keep slipping since almost everyone has one. After all, over 150 million of them have been sold worlwide (The most for any system). This is happening to stores here in the US also. The PlayStation 2 section has no PS2's and just a small section of PS2 games. You have to pretty much do online shopping at places like eBay or Amazon now.

It's a shame - PS2 was named the "best selling gaming console" - about a year ago.
