I just got a old ps2 that i bought off ebay i've go some games for it but when it reads the disc it instead of plaing the game it goes back to the reading disc screen??????????????????????????/

It may be that the Laser is damaged. Which region of PS2 is it? (It should have an SCPH number on the back of it, or underneath it depending on the model.)

Dear Strangeplace,

I ordered online playstation 2 game cd's from amazon.com. They were shipped by stores in the USA.

When I received the cd's I could not play them and found that the cd's were in NTSC and my playstation 2 console was PAL.

How can I play the NTSC game cd's in a PAL PS2 console?? Do i need to buy a NTSC PS2 console??

Can i buy converters?? or are there any NTSC to PAL conversion softwares??

Please help.

Apologies for the delay.

The PS2 is completely region locked. You would need an NTSC PS2 to play it and a TV capable of recieving NTSC signals.

i have a problem on my ps vita,
buttons are not working in all of game , but in safe mode it works ok, start and select are also not working, please help

Also check if the games are dual layered DVDs, eg Gran Turismo 4, or Metal Gear Solid 3 which the reader may struggle to read. This would be the case if most other games work.

Additionally the games are region locked so for PAL its Region 2, so other region games will not work.

Hello RabidWalker,

I have a PlayStation 2 it is a SCPH-50003 model, I can play Gran Turismo 1, 2 and 3 but I can't play Gran Turismo 4. I thought it was my disk so I baught another copy of Gran Turismo 4, but that won't play either.

Can you help me please?

Which code is written on the spine of the game box? It should be something like "BLES 83837" or similar. This may help us identify the problem

Also, is it a new, or preowned copy?

Is this the only game you are having issues with?

This may indicate an issue with the reader is developing on the console, as Gran turismo 4 is a dual layered DVD.
