Woah!!... Possible gold indeed... Looks like ND are moving to another franchise... ... not that this means the end of Drake, but Crash and Jak were both trilogies with a 'fourth' racing game... so unless we get Uncharted : Drakes' Racing, I'm not sure where that series can go from here... (except spinoffs from other developers)

Not entirely, they now have two separate development teams. Perhaps that means we'll get a Naughty Dog release every 12 months.

Firstly, it looks like they're keeping a few things similar to Uncharted. The girl and the man (which given how the last line she narates is "he tells me..", it's more likely that he's a stranger rather than a relation) fight monsters (a familiar theme in Uncharted, particularly the first game), the father wields a revolver and the two are looking for ammo, which suggests the more resourceful just-pick-up-any-damn-thing-with-bullets method of armaments in the Uncharted vein.

Also, I'm guessing that these two will interact in the same way Nathan and a partner interact in Uncharted - you do most of the work, but your partner (Sully, Elena, Chloe etc.) will help open doors or move ledges or whatever. We're not even sure from whose perspective the game will take place (although in the interest of sales it's more likely to cast you as the man rather than the girl). I'd say it won't be a platformer (or loose interpretation of one) because people will simply call it an Uncharted re-skin. But hopefully we'll have more information at E3 2012.

I think it's fantastic that there are still new series' being explored even with such a deep lineup already. Overstrike is one to watch out for, and there's a whole slate of PS3 exclusives this year. The Xbox 360 has gone off the rails in exclusives though, everything new is made almost exclusively for Kinest, the only major game is yet another bloody Halo, and now it just seems to be cruising on multiplatforms and exclusive multiplayer tie-ins with Call of Duty every year. Good to see Sony still willing to give gamers a new experience.

Oh... and more news, rumour and speculation:

- In the pub in Uncharted 3 there are possible easter eggs, with the front page of the newspaper referring to the source of it all, and the calendar has marked down a possible release date..

- predictably people are suggesting that the hero looks like Nathan Drake, lol...

My own early speculation.... that 'thing' they kill looks suspiciously like Jar-Jar Binks...

As soon as the ND logo showed up my interest raised. It looks very nice. The pretty post apocalyptic setting reminds me of Enslaved but a gritty style. Can't wait to see some gameplay.

Wow, looks great. looks very "I AM LEGEND" if you ask me, which i realise nobody did but im gonna share my view anyway and just after i got the Plat on UC3 too, ND just dont want me to take a break from their games now do they
