I recently triend few of remakes in 2D of the old games or new ones. They rock, really, if you have to relax it's a great idea, I tried some of the games on th edemo, and planning to purchase them.
The fact is, that th eold 16Bit games had all very poor graphics, but if you make a 2D platformer, with a graphic engine like the PS3, the game becomes a piece of art of enterteinement arcade that has endless replay value.
There is a small 2D game inside Rathel and Clank for example, and of course I always replay this small 2D game, which has maazing graphics and funny gameplay, even if I never touched again the real Ratchel nad Clank game.

So it's not the fact that 2D games in general are cool? It's actually the PS3 that makes them that due to the graphics? Since when was graphics the important thing?
2D have always been great.
