Sony plz delete wall riding time trial times

I just recently got GT5 .. wow awesome game  BEST DRIVING GAME !
My only problem is when I tried to do a time trial in on the High Speed Ring to see how I compared to other players I discovered all the top times just bounced off the walls to get the best time ...in other words "Cheating" ! . I posted a time of 1'15.921 in ferrari F430 , my rank was 101 , I was kinda pleased with that until I viewed the replays of the top times and discovered the all cheated by wall riding... so for all I know I could be number 1 in the world out of the drivers who drive the track properly !... I hope SONY can do something about this in a future update !

Re: Sony plz delete wall riding time trial times

1st things 1st there racing on a track and with the same rules every1 else uses.
There not using tactics no one else cant use themselves.

So how are they cheating?

Re: Sony plz delete wall riding time trial times

its cheating, it comes under the same catagory as ramming into a car to slow themsleves down for a corner rather than braking correctly,

yes, everyone could do the same, but its not really the point of the game,
its a simulation, you wouldnt get far in a real car scraping along a wall,

Its also a game! Thats the beauty of it you can do some things in game that you wouldnt be able to do in real life.

Also can you please link me to the rules of Gran turismo?

Its a game recreating certain aspects of driving cars round tracks

Re: Sony plz delete wall riding time trial times

I'm with Superjoe on this. If you want to race & ram/nudge other cars, play Burnout or NFS. The GT-series of games are driving/racing sim's. When I read a press release from the FIA stating that such driving tactics is now acceptable in motorsport, *then* I will adopt them.

I believe thats what the penalties are for, if the time trial your doing hasnt got penalties then stop whining and use the course as the rules allow.

if you want a as true to real life experience then whack on the penalties to get rid of non real life tactics being used

Re: Sony plz delete wall riding time trial times

Wall ridin' kind of detracts from the point of submittin' a quick and honest time does it not?!
I'd never do the same thing 'cos its not that professional and kind of retarded, especially in a top quality sim' as this.

Its like someone sayin' 'oh yeah and how did you do your great time on that track?', the answer 'oh I jus' wall rode the whole way round, didn't bother to drive properly'.

This kind of makes the rest of us, me in particular not wanna' bother with these time trials, I mean who wants to do the same sort of thing, jus' to beat a fraudulent time? Not me!

Re: Sony plz delete wall riding time trial times

its a really good tactic which requires skill cos if you do it wrong then you will slow down too much maybe you should just use that tactic aswell
