Wishful thinking. The PC is the natural ground for space sims, and there's only 2 or 3 of them, that are any good.

I've given up waiting for an Elite 4, it'll never happen.

surely ps3 has the power to run something as big as x2, which is still an awesome game despite its age.

There is little to no chance of this genre coming to a console. Developers, quite rightly, assume that there is no money in it. These Space Sims on the PC's have longevity and appeal thanks to the Modding scene. Beside the average Console gamer doesn't have the patience to learn a game like X3.

grrrrr... I know you're spot on, to be honest. just need to get a pc again! rather they avoid it altogether than bring out a half-arsed console-gamer-friendly version like the abomination that was Civilization Revolution...

Frontier announced it a few months back, it's being made by the original guys that worked on the BBC version all those years ago.

I'd love a space sim and while I agree that there's been few titles on consoles before now I'd like to point out there's no reason why they can't be added to the PS3 now. If you hype anything up enough that other devs aren't covering then it will usually sell well and the PS3 has the hardware for the kind of games that generally were the domain of PC's.

Can't say I know much about modding, but Unreal Tournament III allowed players to make use of that feature so I assume it can be done for any other game.

But anyway bring us the space sims Sony
