Uncharted pre-order code

What stops people sharing the pre-order code that unlocks the gold guns? Havent tried to do it or anything just wondered what happens if you do.

I would imagine that like most codes that come with pre orders or games it will become invalid after it is used once and then it won't be able to be used again.
