You heard about a lot of people getting YLOD because there are a lot of people that bought it and are currently playing it. Everytime there is a major game release reports of YLOD come in blaming the game, tis nothing unusual but definately not any specific games causing it.
The ylod is more common than sony would have you know 0.5% failure rate is a load of rubbish ive got loads of friends on my friends list that have suffered ylod and the customer support representative told me 2% failure rate and that was months ago, no way would I pay sony 125 pounds for a repair with a 3 month guarantee, you can purchase a brand new system now for 199 pounds and get a years guarantee, I wish sony would just hold their hands up and say its our fault, these things should be lasting longer than they are!
