Re: 2nd YLOD

Yeah but doesnt those wee colourful lights look all festive and cheerie when u switch it on?, hey I bet if we got a bunch of ps3's with ylod and like piled em up and switched them on it would look waaaaaaaaaay cool . Hey, we could even get a celebrity to switch them on! but who?

Seriously, I know it aint a good feeling its happened to me. I was waaaaaaaay not happy but I did have insurance so worked out ok.Hope u get back gaming soon.

Re: 2nd YLOD

Oo_Alias_oO: i'd recommend backing up ur save data regularly on external source, wish i had thought of it before my 2nd one broke down too sux now i've lost all my fallout and naruto data So now im onto my 3rd ps3 lol. only good thing is my warranty covers this loss' so only have to pay €80 rather then 300.

As someone else said - check your insurance policy to make sure you're not covered for "accidental" damage!!!

Hi I got a 40 gig ps3 upgraded to Gig had. While I was playing gt5 ps3 turn off so I tried turning it back on and all it was doing was beeping and red blue light come on to boot up but them yellow light come on ps3 wouldn't boot up. So I ej disc and ps3 come back on fine. Also when loading disc there's been a creeking noise. Does this mean my ps3 on its last legs?

Dam Mines did the exact same thing! and yes most likely my first YLOD did that. just start backing up and see if you can get warrenty! And i just couldnt be bothered to pay another 60Pounds for a repair that will in another 4months time will go so i just bought a Slim in rage. Had to get refund on my camera :smileysad: which sucked!
