Internet browser freezes repeatedly after update to 4.10. I have to close down console with front button. Not good enough!
You expect another update very soon.

Yeah,it freeze's for me more often as well.
I say freeze,it just stops responding and i quit it - But it doesnt quit to XMB,it shows the background of the XMB (still moving).
I have to force shutdown by holding down the power button.
Does this on both my 60g & slim.

this happens for me, but only when quitting something streaming. if i stop the stream first, then backpage to a 'neutral' page, it doesn't happen.

Letting pages fully load before moving to something else and clearing cache and history regularly as RONNYS says above running safe mode rebuild the database can help my system is virtually freeze free.

Already did that right after the update (on both machines) - And restored filesystem.
Because a PSN game had slight stuttering - Maybe thought the update caused it (not sure if it did it before).
Didnt fix the stuttering or browser freeze ups.

i get this too, as well as a breaking up screen on scrolling, slower sluggish general use, and all on top of the previous problems. This is a step backwards for me.
Mubi keeps locking up as well now

Had a few days with it now and the initial buzz of the browser update has well and truely gone. I'm back to the old routine of keeping javascript turned off until I need it and constant cache clearing.
With java on it can take an age for a page to load, and scrolling and navigation can be so unresponsive it becomes unusable. And when it does work the judder and stutter is terrible, especially when using zoom.
And yes, still a load of freezes with java and streaming.
I've also encountered the blue background with no XMB menu after a lock-up, although I've discovered if I wait a minute or so the menu sometimes reappears....Although sometimes it doesn't.
On the brightside, page layout problems seem to be sorted and a few websites are usable that weren't before
But overall, not slick, not nice and not the update I was hoping for.
Sorry Sony but the PS3 is capable of so much more. After waiting years for an update your customers deserve more than this. I can only hope that this is just the start of ongoing btowser updates and they fix the flaws and add the features needed to make the browser work well.
Go on Sony, show off you're tech know-how, give the Playstation a browser it deserves

here here, i second that. (at the risk of all the abuse that seems to come from people that can't understand using the ps3 browser).
