A HDD question

I have a 60gb launch ps3, my question is i have a 160gb ps3 slim hdd would it be compatible with my 60gb ps3?

Any help would be much appreciated

Please use plain text.

Re: A HDD question

Yes, but the 60GB will format it when you bung it in there.

Re: A HDD question

Should be mate, if a HDD works in one PS3 it's compatible with another because they all work to the same specification (except the size of course) although if you have any data stored on the HDD it will erase and need formatting when you place it in another PS3 as they are linked to each console.

No you should just have to swap the Hard Drives over and the PS3 should ask you to format the hard drive for use with the console other than that you shouldnt need to do anything to it

Re: A HDD question

On some models it may require the firmware on a flash drive but it will ask if required.
