Hi guys have been looking for a good headset for a while now i was thinking of turtle beach ones as there the only ones i have ever really heard about (not tech savvy on my headsets). But i have come across the official sony 7.1 wireless headset and it gets great reviews just wondering if anyone who has this headset could recommend it plz?

I have this and for the price it's a great headset. Only advice I can give is if you get this then buy yourself a 3 metre charging cable off the internet, cost about £5 from Play. If the battery runs out whilst playing you can still use it.

Iv heard some bad reports on these and if you break the usb thing u cant get another one you have to buy the complete set,if I was you buddy I would save the extra money and get some astro a40s these things are awesome I brought a set recently and it was £180 well spent, I no they are a lot of money but worth every penny wicked sound and will last you years.

Roughly 8 hours. But get the extra length charge cable because the one supplied isn't long enough, you would virtually have to sit about 5ft from your console.

If money is tight then get these, they are super comfy, I've had mine on for 5-6 hours at a time and they didn't hurt my ears.

If you do get these, when you first turn them on make sure the volume is right down. If they're on full volume you will end up deafening yourself, I did that with mine.

As long as you Know what you are buying you should be fine, read the small print.

Like 

Don't come back moaning that the Virtual 7.1 turns off when watching BDs.

Or

That you can't get sound from your TV to go to the headset when PS3 off.

To the OP, honestly get yourself a pair of these because for the price they are asking you won't find anything better. I even use mine on my PC and can quite happily walk around most of the house listening to my music without losing the signal.

No, You can't. you can alter the vocal feed back (sidetone) volume level. Thats why its hidden under triangle button options. The mic is still fixed at level 3. As all Firmware based Headsets are.

Cheers for feedback guys money is a bit tight at min would not like to spend £180 on pair of headphones thats for sure so think these are the way to go. Also with the new 4.20 firmware does it improve the headset in anyway can u now have 7.1 surround sound on blu rays?
