COD might be the reason of the outage been a few reports of MW3 screwing up the messaging system.

Yeah it happens to me on Cod too. I tried to send a message to a guy that branded me and my mate 'camping scum', claiming that we had been sitting in one place for the whole match. I kindly pointed out that there was a theater mode and he should watch the match back before wildly accusing someone. I got 3/4 of the way through the message before it booted me off the xmb and back into the game.

I sent the message in the end after 5 tries! I am a determined person I suppose!

Not the most helpful thing to post.

Anyhow.... there isn't much info to update with. They're aware of problems and are working on fixing it. Always a good idea to check out the twitter pages or FB etc. Usually you'd get more info at a quicker rate but it is the weekend and unexpected. On the plus side I do have quite a few folk now being able to sign in or so they are telling me via twitter.

Yup, on Twitter, Playstation have just tweeted:

"We are aware that some of you are having issues accessing PSN, and we're working to restore service to all. Thank you for your patience."

So they are working on it!

EDIT - I'M SIGNED IN AGAIN!!

I am now able to login. us.playstation.com and uk.playstation.com are still slow and ofline for login.
