Unless it's possible to boot into a live-CD environment on the ps3, I guess the easiest way to do that is to remove the HDD, toss it into a PC, mount the linux partition and remove the password. I don't know how YDL stores the password, but I'd think it's /etc/passwd (and shadow) as most other linux distributions.
I don't think the ps3 encrypt the linux partition, but if it does things get trickier.

That would be a bios password, it's something way different.
Btw, the username is normally plain text in the passwd file, so it's not a huge obstacle to overcome if it's forgotten. ![]()
