Anyone succsesfully changed their harddisk?

Was thinking of changing my 40 GB HDD for a 120, or 250 GB notebook harddisk, I've read some guides and stuff and im fairly confident I can do it, just wondering if anyone's done this with succsess, and if so how easy they found it? Only recently got my PS3, and I'm in love with it, I'm anxious to do this for fear of damaging it lol.
Also does anyone know if doing this will void my warranty?
Thanks =]

Re: Anyone succsesfully changed their harddisk?

Use the exact size screwdriver only! It's a small phillips head so get one that fits. I didn't and had to resort to other less honorable means to get the screw out, the rest was easy though. It wont void the warranty.

Installing a new HDD is something that even unexperienced IT users can do fairly easily, especially in the case of changing the HDD in your PS3.

Thanks for the tips!
Where did you guys get your harddisks?
I've got my eye on a few but I'm not familiar with the sites and I'm wary as to wether to buy from them.

its a peice of cake :smileyvery-happy:
just unscrew, pull out, put new h/d onto cage, slot back in, and follow on screen instructions for formatting when power up. All your settings will still be there.
i recently put a 250gb in mine :Thumbs:
try western digital , i think they do a 250gig for £90

Blessed are the cheesemakers, for they shall inherit their girth :smileyhappy:
