Hey guys,

               I'm 17, and looking top buy a 160GB PS3 in June which will set me back €220, which isn't easy to come buy. Now that I have the money, I'm hesitant. Is it too late? With the PS4 on the horizon, is it worth the wait? Or should I buy a PS Vita, as that is a little more future proof?

     Basically, I want to play Jak and Daxter/Rachet/Sly/God of War/Prince of Persia HD Collections, not to mention INfamous and Uncharted, to name a few! What are your opinions? Should I just buy one?

              Sorry for the long post, just need reassurance/opinions on waiting or to buy Vita instead?

Yes. PS3 support is still HUGE and will be for many years

Well, obviously I'd say yes, buy a PS3, if you've waited this long to jump onboard now, I don't see why a PS4 being released within the next 5 years should make you hesitant...

...However, if your main aim is to play HD collections... I can't help but feel you will be waisting your money...there are lots of reasons to own a PS3, great exclusives, media player, free online, awesome community and Nathan Drakes hair... but playing PS2 games, isn't one of them

HD remakes in my opinion are superb and I love playing them.

Very true. The other exclusives and having my first Blu Ray player would be awesome too, not to mention Netflix support! Thanks for the replies guys. I have bought a PS3 in the past, but was too busy to play. Have a lot more time now, so that's why I'm thinking about picking it up!

Well worth it.

Most HD upgrades have been poor but you do get some quality upgrades

Sly Cooper HD upgrade is a great game

As are ICO and SOC

Not bought many but others can help you out

But also many great ps3 games on top with still quite a few still lined up.

I'd say go for it, it's still a long time before the ps4 will even be anounced and there are lots of games available for it

(ps: 220 isn't a lot at all... you should get a job if you don't have one yet, I haven't even worked much lately however let's just say that I would still be capable of buying one every month )

It is far from late to get a PS3 in fact no where near it.

With all the great games hitting us after E3 2012 im pretty sure youll be glad you bought one. Built in upgradable cd,dvd, blu ray player, built in internet browser, multimedia features, state of the art graphics better than xbox, PSN online access you wont get any better.

And theres also the fact you can use Eye Create do crazy effects , record and upload these videos to youtube or anywhere else you want. The PS3 eye camera is perfect for video blogging. The PS3 will last more than 10 years trust me its an essential purchase.

@davylindhout Thank you for the reply man! Yeah, my last exam in school ends June 14th, getting a job then. College next year too! I'm gonna out money aside for a PS4 too I suppose. Really appreciate the reply man.
