Whereas RimLag was affecting EVERYONE who reached a certain file save size, this is not the case following the latest patch.
Incorrect. I'm up to 130 hours, 115 of those pre-patch. I've had no slowdown apart from 1 solitary instance. It was a one time minor irritation, certainly not what I'd call a game breaker. As for freeze/reset, I've had that once - after the patch.
I can appreciate that people have been very angry about this, but it isn't true that this has been the case for everyone. My brother has had some slowdown, my wife hasn't. Another friend played 150 hours or so with only 2 instances of slowdown.

Wise decision, although Bethesda have made some effort to fix this game (more so than any other game that had these issues) the fact remains that Bethesda have been working these games for years, they started Oblivion in 2002 (10 years ago) and still have too many problems to count.
I think it is safe to say that if they cannot fix something after 10 years of work then its never going to be fully fixed, yes they might sort out some issues, but they will never get rid of all issues within this game, or any of their games for that matter.
And that upsets me, i loved Oblivion, i loved Fallout 3 and i bet you i would love Skyrim, but not with problems, i don't care how great a game it is, i will not put up with anymore game breaking glitches and slowdowns and corrupted save files.
This game is still not completely fixed, my friend has this on his Xbox, 150hrs in, level 48, most of the main quests done, and BANG, corrupted save file, all that time and effort lost, 150hrs of his life and its all gone.
Its not just money that you risk losing buying a game like this its also your time, your life, sorry but i for one will play games that i will fully enjoy and know i wont have any issues with.

I have to agree with your post. The developers have got to spend time on these games, I'm not bothered if we don't see a game for 8 years, at least it'll be worth the wait. With every game costing upto £40.00; that's a lot of money for some to waist on a game, especially if your not gonna get any enjoyment from it except a load of heartache. What I wanna know is: Can these Bug/glitched games cause problems with our consoles; as in break them?

Has there been any more patches for this yet ? Is it worth buying yet or holding out a bit longer do you think ?
It ran almost perfectly after the last patch all i had was a slight brief occasional pause after fast travel managed to platinum the game with no problems.
There is another patch imminent currently in beta on PC and being submitted to Sony and Microsoft shortly for approval.

They are adding some new features notably cinematic kill cam and more crash and memory optimisation and some quest bug fixes but believe me even on the current patch it's not as broken as it was on the previous patch.
