I like this post, we will all enjoy the PS3 at different levels and some people will find certain features more interesting than others but im positive that on here and also among my close friends, there are people hiding their disappointment in the PS3 to keep their pride. This is understandable after investing time and money into it.

There are some exclusives out there that do show what the PS3 is capable of but most of them are just mutton dressed as lamb in my opinion. I really want to play my PS3 more but everytime I turn it on it all feels like im playing the PS2 with better graphics. For some people this will be great im sure but the actual platform of the PS3 (eg menus, messaging, extra functionality) feels 'last gen'. Yet if you look at the technology behind the console its the total opposite.

The PS3 is by no means a failure, things like Blu Ray, the slim version and free online have really helped but im sure there are many people out there that wanted more.

Being totally honest, I cant see much of a future for the PS3, especially not the life expectancy that was promised by Sony. I think that they should now want to get the PS4 out there before the competition to avoid the same situation happening again (not too soon though). 

Before you all jump down my throat, I am fully aware of the good games, features and capabilities of the PS3. Im not a fanboy, I really wish there was more dragging me towards my PS3.

Im hoping Polyphony can help with that next year....

If your an RPG fan then you should buy Valkyria Chronicles.

That game is worth the price of the console alone.

I can see why as an RPG gamer you would be annoyed at the PS3. The Xbox 360 has really tried this gen to acquire them.

If you are an RPG fan then you should definately import Demons Souls, its a ps3 exclusive with a wo factor becasue its awesome. You can get it from here:

I cant disagre with that.  The PS3 is awesome as a blu ray player, it is slowly getting better with media management, it has I-Player which is cool, they have added trophies..

I cant be the only one that feels home is a little bit of a dissapointment, that could really define the ps3 if done right.

I know there are a lot of people that have both consoles, but the way things are going there wont be a PS4 if sony dont start throwing money at games manufactrers and getting more exclusives..  It sometimes feels that every time sony announce an exclusive 2 months later the game manufacturer announces its making the game for xbox too.

I know a lot of people with Xbox's too and all of thm say that until they see a game on the PS3 that shows its better than the xbox then they aint going to buy a ps3.  This is partly why im so dissapointed that games manufacturers are not using the ps3 to its full advantage.

I do think sony are failing themselves, I can tell you when microsoft release the xbox 720 with blu ray 2 years before the ps4, it will have a whole hose of games ready to take full advantage of the new tech... 

Microsoft are prepared to lose millions to impair sonys profits from the console..  As much as I hate microsoft, i cant deny that they have some of the best marketting people in the world.. 

This will becoem a Microsoft Apple Mac type war...  with 90% owning microsoft and 10% owning sony..  They will spend millions to do this..

Maybe sony should try and approach nintendo and get a couple of exclusives like Zelda or Mario.... 

Maybe games manufactureres should start putting Blu-ray quality FMV in the cut scenes so they at least stand out more...

2 years ago we were told the ps3 would have a whole host of games that would blow the xbox out the water, that home would be seemlessly intergrated into the ps3 and that the xbox would start showing its age..

In fact now 2 years down the line, the ps3 has less exclusives, no dual platform game that you can put side by side with an xbox and say WOW the ps3 is incredible.  In fact there are not many exclusive games that really show off the ps3, sure there are some great games but, not a lot that couldnt be faithfully reproduced on the xbox..  Home is a pain and no where near developed enough to be of any real use.  And to top it off microsoft keep getting more and more content, sky player, last fm, facebook etc...  not to mention that games manufacturers want to make games identical on both platforms..

Whats next... some games develoer developing an xbox 360 emulator for the ps3 then they dont even need to re-code the games..

That said Buzz is ace as a family game, but the ps3 is sadly lacking in family entertainment games, the IPET will be fun for the kids im sure, but i wouldnt mind seeing more games the whole family can play.  I wouldnt mind seeing more RPG games on the PS3 either, there are plenty on the XBOX.. 

I would love to see squaresoft move its focus back to playstation, would love to see xenogears chrono triger etc on ps3... hell if they made a ffvii remake on the ps3, i would sned the wife and kids on holiday for a fortnight so i wasnt interupted playing it lol...

Demon Souls does look awesome, I have never imported games before, will they work on my uk playstation or do i need to  do something ?   If its just import and play, then I will get it..

Valkyria Cronicles is one of those games ive always ummed and ahhed about but never bought,  I will buy it though to pass the time till FFXIII arrives.

You can buy any game from any country and it will work on your UK PS3, the only problem will be DLC which wont work apart from that it should be all good bud

If you have a HD tv youll be fine although however older SD tvs often cause the games to be in black and white. Apart from that it will run fine without you needing to do anythnig, ps3 games are region free

I own all three consoles and your friends either are stubborn or they are blind.

Killzone 2, Uncharted 1& 2 are just three games right there that surpass (graphically) the competition.

2010 has more games that are looking awesome. God Of War III, Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain just to name a few.

If none of those appeal to people then it looks like Microsoft have consumed their eyes.

The whole PS3 not having as many exclusives thing you're getting at is true, BUT, the PS3 has a lot more GOOD exclusives, the only 360 exclusives I'd even consider buying are dead rising, which is coming to PS3 I think (well the second one anyway), and Gears of War 2.....PS3 has Uncharted 1 & 2, Killzone, LBP, MotorStorm 1 & 2, infamous, GT5 (eventually) and so on...
