I believe that's right; you cannot listen in via blue tooth. However, the guide in post one tells you how to fix this -

under settings, go to Accessory settings

go to audio device settings.

have his bluetooth selected as the input device, (press down to input device, and it will pulse brightly, hit X to select).

have SYSTEM DEFAULT DEVICE as the output device (highlight the output device, press X and scroll to desired option).

This will mean he can use his bluetooth to talk, and any replies he gets will come out over the TV/Stereo speakers for you all to hear!

If you're referring to the 7.1 surround headset, that isn't bluetooth. It comes with a wireless dongle that plugs into a USB port on your PS3.

Its out of control highly recommend getting it.
