If it's Banned it's Banned why should Sony unban it ? How do they know it's not his system originally or one of his friends systems and their trying to work around the Ban . Permanently Banned means Permanently Banned,

The system can still be used as a media system and for gaming but is not allowed access to the PSN and never will be allowed access again.

I'd argue that if the TC was to send a copy of his eBay transaction (If that is where he got it) to Sony to prove he's only just purchased it and that the listing didn't state it was banned then they should unban it

Probably faster just to go via eBay's complaint procedure though

My advice to do with PS3 has always been never buy second hand. My ex didnt listen and she ended up with a PS3 that cant even download demos without switching off lol. Anyway its not a good idea because not only will people sell banned consoles but also sell consoles with temporary fixes. Its always best to just save up as you will save money and time, not to say all second hand consoles are in bad condition.

I really, really, with a passion, hate those people who sell hard drives from 60GB Phat PS3s and imply that putting it in your non-PS2 compatible PS3 will give it backwards compatibilty

I also dispair for those who believe it and buy them

You would be surprised at how many fall for these scams. I know loads of people who have but there are some genuine people out there who won't rip you off.

Recently bought a PS2 game for my nephew from a re-seller on Play. Item was posted but never arrived. After 7 days I emailed them to say that the item never arrived and they posted out another one the day after.

Just open a case in ebay and say the item isn't as described and give the reason why.

Paypal/ebay always side with the buyer so you will be ok.

Whenever you buy something used (like a console), always buy from a shop with decent credability. That way you're covered if anything goes wrong, and usually for a year. Buying privatley means you'll be screwed if something like this happenes or if it breaks a week or two down the line.

Just follow everyones advice and contact the seller. If he decides to be an ass hat, open a dispute with eBay. He must have known something like this could happen, which is probably why he wanted to flog it.

This has happened to me before, its simple......just open case with ebay and they freeze the money you have paid to the buyer. Thats aslong as the money is still in paypal but it takes 2 or 3 days for money to transfer to his bank so open it quick as they can still freeze it. He then has to totally explain himself before they release the funds and in this case they wont and it will be returned to you

Morning i would buy a new PS3 transfer your stuff 2 you new PS3 its another example of people not behaving themselves on PSN or violating terms & conditions. Hope you get it sorted ASP.
