My PlayStation Plus subscription doesn't expire until the end of next month but there is a sale on for -20% off one-year subscription, this deal ends on the 23rd September. 

My question is; if I was to buy this deal would it start a new subscription from today or would it start at the end of my first subscription expirary?

all purchases of plus subs stack onto each other so your expirary date will show how long is left for the combined sub

Exactly, I think it will be on sale again after September but not before my subscription ends.
