Buying "Flower"

I've decided I would like to buy Flower, having downloaded and tried the trial. But, when I look around on these forums, I find many people speaking of buying it for £2.58, and some people waiting around for it to be on sale for £0.49 or something.

Even at full price, it's not that expensive. But, could someone please explain how online pricing works? Are there frequent changes in price? Or do they only get discounted occasionally? Are there other ways of purchasing downloadable games other than directly through the PS3? I found a page for the game on amazon, but it's no longer available.

Re: Buying "Flower"

Usually the prices are fixed but on occasion they might be subjected to a limited offer (seasonal or something), or a permanent price reduction which will be stated in the Store update blog.

The best thing is if you want something then just buy it, especially if the price at the time is reasonable to you?

Re: Buying "Flower"

Thanks. The game is not expensive, but I didn't know if the playstation market had rapid changes. The key words n your answer for me are "on occasion". It's therefore not like free 99p listing days on ebay, which seem to happen so often that you might as well wait for one.

Re: Buying "Flower"

It all depends on how well its sold/selling. A top selling game like Flower wont see many price reductions in its lifetime, except like I mentioned, the odd festive promotion or something.

Re: Buying "Flower"

I suppose at that price its worth a try.

I'm a huge fan of PSN games & own a fair few - But this is possibly one of the worst i own.Comlpetly left me cold.

Dont understand the fuss about it - Only my opinion though.

Re: Buying "Flower"

We enjoyed the demo, which seems to be the first out of four or five worlds. But I can imagine that it won't be everyone's cup of tea.

Any recommendations of more relaxing games in the style of Flower would be appreciated. We have "Endless Ocean" on the Wii, and we're aware of Flow which we intend to buy as well.

Re: Buying "Flower"

Theres  "Linger In shadows" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDdStxjGELk

But its more of a rolling DEMO that you control now and again. But i suppose you could call it relaxing

Which makes sense, because it developed by the PC Demo-scene group "plastic" (i think).

I bought it because i was a fan of MEGA-DEMO's back in the c64-AMIGA days - Although, unlike MEGA-DEMOS on the AMIGA/PC/C64 etc ......Ths one isnt free.

It's not realy similar to Flower but personally I find Limbo quite relaxing due to the minimalistic art style. It is a platform game/puzzle game but the atmosphere, to me, is rather relaxing.

Re: Buying "Flower"

Journey is the next game from the makers of Flower and should release sometime before summer.
