Casual gamers unite!!!

[ Edited ]

Playstation big wigs, please tell the game-makers that casual game players (playing on the easiest level) don't want to get stuck repeatedly getting killed trying kill bad guys. That's not why we play these games! I haven't finished ONE game on my PS3 (including Infamous, Arkham City, Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 2, etc) because I've given up in disgust after getting continually killed, usually towards the end which is even more frustrating. I'm seriously thinking of selling my PS3 at the moment!

PLEASE tell the game-makers to give casual gamers an Opt-out option for difficult battles so we can make it to the end of the game. Some of us play for the story, not just for the battles!

Casual gamers, please like or comment if you agree and we might make a difference!

Re: Casual gamers unite!!!

no thanks, I used to be a noob, and I always played on easy, and struggled, but now I play on normal, and it's too damn easy, maybe you should try playing some games from the 90's when easy was more like "rip your hair out frustrating" normal was "you really are a masochist aren't you" and hard was "lol you don't even want to finish the training level?... ok!"

while I do think "Easy" should be "Easy" challenges can be very rewarding I find the real issue is difficulty curves across the the game on any difficulty
I used to have a cool sig and avatar, but they don't work anymore :smileysad:

Easy is a trap. inFamous was much harder on Easy than it was on Normal. Playing normal gets you more XP so you can level up quicker to face the tougher enemies that come later.

I still haven't gotten through that last Satellite uplinks mission though. I'm so glad they ditched those in inFamous 2.

If you're only interested in the story I'd suggest watching the cutscenes on Youtube.

People like you are why games such as World of Warcraft have become r-tard proof.

A lot of people do put the stories on Youtube, have le fun on that.

If you're going to play the game, whilst it can be for the story - the idea of a game is for an interactive story...such as Beating bosses, collecting items - finishing quests. Otherwise you're essentially watching a movie...

Re: Casual gamers unite!!!

While I personally prefer a bit of a challenge, I think single-played games should be put together for all levels of skill, and for different types of people - there's no reason why a game can't have a hard-as-nails setting, normal setting _and_ a "I'm really just a tourist setting, but that's what I like". We're all different people, after all.

Of course, online games like WoW/CoD/whatever are very different - and I understand your concern there mako - but for SP games, I think the more the merrier. For a start. the 'very easy' setting can still be a plenty fine challenge for people that have never played games before (seriously, I know people who find the Uncharted 'super easy' settings really - and they are genuinely struggling), and for a second, many gamers with years of experience often play on normal, and they'll find it easier on that than the likes of the OP on easy - so many more experienced gamers already have (and exercise) this option, so why not make it an option for more casual/inexperienced players as well?

Mass Effect 3 has done this, with their difficulty level called "Narrative."

Aye, and apparently Red Dead Redemption lets you skip tough stuff as well - and I'd bet good money GTA V does as well.

Re: Casual gamers unite!!!

If you're only a casual gamer perhaps you could play games more suited towards the casual gamer.
