Catherine

Would anyone at Sony care to explain why Catherine cost $99.95 on the Australian store, but $39 on the us store?

Current currency conversion puts it the us price at $36 AUD.

WHY THE HELL DO WE HAVE TO PAY  $63 MORE THAN US!!!!!!!!!!

I see your caps lock key may potentially be broken towards the end of that post or you're just being a jerk and typing in caps lock. Cool story bro.

To be honest it's been covered a few times before in previous threads not only here, but across numerous forums as to why the price is different. If you google the or even search previous threads regarding this, you could educate yourself and save posting a thread with attention grabbing caps and exclamation marks.

Users are quick to complain when the dollar is at parity or above yet when it falls (and it will), if things were to be on par with the US store, our prices should increase, yet they don't. You'll like having the discount one way but when the price increase comes on the other side of the sword (double edged sword reference incase you're special) you'll be quick to complain again.

If you don't like the price, don't buy the item.

Re: Catherine

Ravana, there's no issue with regions or customs with Catherine whatsoever as it made here fine through our ratings board. I would encourage you to have your say with your wallet and just order it from the US, save money and no money is made from the mark up here on your purchase. Unfortunately there is a lot of inherent problems in our regions, we pay more for less, censorship, extreme delays or even completely written off releases.

The truth is Australia always gets ripped off when it comes to games whether it be in retail or DLC... I don't know who's fault this is but I have asked many people in different countries the price of there games usually new games in another country is around 60 Australian dollars yet we pay 100 dollars here for a new game.

Also another thing I found weird I purchased Skyrim for 89.99 the first day it came out. My friend went to purchase the exact same copy as me it was not some special edition and she told me it was 110 dollars. Somehow it has gone up.

Who cares what the US store charges.

The fact that the AU PSN store is charging $20-30 more than AU retailers are for Catherine is  what the real problem is.

Even Ebgames, a store notorious for overcharging are only asking for $78.

http://ebgames.com.au/ps3-154142-Catherine-PlayStation-3   Ebgames $78

I thought digital games were meant to be cheaper than the retail version. Did Sony AU miss the memo?

Re: Catherine

The point is Kuri that retail or digital, it doesn't matter US is cheaper. Taking into account even tax, we pay way more than we should be at both retail and digital levels. That is why I imported Catherine, let alone to get it early as just one of the many instances my money was forced to go elsewhere..
