If I change the HDD on my PS3, do I need to deactivate the system beforehand?

I would of thought so mate,just like most appliances with a HDD...I would do it anyway,just to be safe,Video game consoles can be picky for being a sod

No, you don't need to deactivate the system to change the hard drive. The system isn't identified by it's hard drive.

Didn't bother de-activating with both of my HDD upgrades still only have only one PS3 activated on the SEN website.
