Hey guys, i recently baught a ps3 and i thought i could connect my ps3 to my computer (windows 7, hd) with a hdmi cable. My computer has a hdmi port. So what i did was connect the hdmi cable to my computer and ps3 and hope the ps3 screen would pop up when i turn it on and i could play games on my pc moniter instead of having to ask my mum if i could use the tv. Anyway well it didn't and i have looked every where to find out how to make the screen come but i couldn't find out how can anyone help me please? Thanks.

you will find both devices only output data via HDMI and can not record/input data on either device (PC/PS3) You can get a HDMI card for a PC however. I would not recommend trying to plug a PS3 into a PC's graphics adapter.

If you want to use a PS3 on a monitor get a DVI to HDMI cable or (if your monitor has HDMI) a HDMI switch.

If your Monitor has a HDMI input, it will work.... If your graphics card has a HDMI output, and so does your TV... you could put your PC on the TV.... it all makes sense... Input, output Same name? Use it if you can...

depends what inputs you have on your monitor ie. VGA, DVI, HDMI etc.

Forget about the inputs on the tower because they will not function with the PS3. Concentrate on the inputs/outputs on your monitor. If your monitor has HDMI then yes it would connect to the PS3.

I have a HDMI IN and OUT on my computer, I was wondering if I could record hd videos with my ps3 if I had the software and what software would I use?
