Connecting PS3 to Laptop

I am sure many of you have seen this question. How am I going to connect my ps3 to my laptop.

I don't need it for the media sharing so there for, wireless is not in the question.

I plan to upload whole gameplays of Call of Duty. I would like to know what cables I need. I got the Video Editor kind of handled unless any of you readers have any suggestions about that, that would be greatly appreciated.

My laptop is an ASUS Gaming laptop with intel Core i7 and windows 7 so what would I need for the cords a regular HDMI cable? I am guessing not but then again I don't know what I need aka why I am asking.

So this is why I came here instead of constantly looking through google I couldn't find the right answer. I figured coming here someone might give me a specific answer.

Thank you very much for your time :smileyhappy:

Very much dout the lap top has HDMI IN.. Only 1 single HDMI out port..

Which means you need a Component HD Capture card to capture the video.

People buy a HD component capture box called a Haup HD PVR.

And swap from HDMI to component before they want to record.

The lag generated from processing the 1080i causes Display lag and make playing games Live hard. So they pay on the normal HDTV not on the lap top.

HDMI capture requires expensive equipment to remove to HDCP, ICT and so on not worth it when Youtube will strip the video down to 4Mb/s..

MIght be worth it. If you were going to provide Direct download of the original file but you won't....

Have fun. (Editing is either a skill you have or do not, if you do not people will get bored of your content very quickly. Just like videos channels that are Not HD.)

Re: Connecting PS3 to Laptop

You can't just record directly to your computer, you need a capture card as mentioned above.
You can go with the top market HD one's, but the HD PVR 2 comes out at the beginning of October (couple of weeks) so you may as well wait for that, as it has straight HDMI connections. Still need to use component for PS3, but at least it's less cables.
Otherwise just record in SD, where no-one will really want to view your videos because it's 2012 xD

Don't buy the HD PVR2 yet. There are Meta data stream errors with the new equipment.

Sony vagus is chucking up Errors.

HD PVR 1 does not have these errors in sony vagus...

Its out now in USA. but has its problems as its new ( Patches are on the way..)

Its a new product for Xbox users, theres nothing new for PS3.

The use of using up an HDMI port is a double edge sword on PS3.

You now need 2 HDMI ports on your TV now.

1 for Gaming in 720p (very few games are 1080i/p)

1 for watching in 1080p on BDs and videos.

SD does not need any thing more than a DVD recorder...
