I have been watching this one for some time and it could just be me, but I think it has the chance of being the No1 game for the PS3.
Yes, I know that its a big call but lets look at what is on offer...
1) It looks like a genuine MMO, not just a "multiplayer". (yes, I am a recovering WoW player)
2) Sony and PC only.
3) Sony and PC users exist in the same servers!
4) Built for the PS3 (and for the PS3 controller)
5) The Joker is so hot right now.
6) Fully customizable character. (This is a given in MMO's but...)
7) Hero or Villain, YOU CHOOSE!
Point seven is a big one and here is why... Most MMO's and games in general have you verses some one else and in most of these the reasons are contrived and/or complex.
In Warhawk there is no back story,so as great as this game is there is no motivation to beat the other guys other than your own rank advancement (and it is fun 
).
In Kill Zone 2 the reason is spelled out, but you kinda feel sorry for the Helgast and the situation they found themselves in.
The difference with DCUO is not that its Good Vs Evil, but that the players on either side will believe that their way is the only way. We are going to have Hero's that will be out to righteously smite any evil doer and on the flip side we will Villains who will be out to just muck things and wreck the status quo (because the status is ... not ... quo).
O' and if you are like me and think "why would you want to be a Hero?" don't fear, most of the people in DCUO's forums are saying they will be heroes! (... and I have just given away my preference Bwa ha ha ha)
It is still early days and it is not slated for release till early 2010 but this game is on the top of my watch list.
And now a question, which would you choose, save the world Hero or burn the world Villain?

I think I will keep posting here when new info pops up.
SOE have just hinted at another mechanic in the game, Secret Identity's!
This could be quite cool if you are able to wander the streets dressed up like an AI character without being hassled.
There has also been rumors about travel vehicles. Currently we know that Flight (like Superman) Acrobatics (like Spiderman) and Fast Running (like The Flash) will be in the game, vehicles like the Batmobile would be sweet!

and in regards to the question Hero or Villian? Villian obviously bad guys have all the fun

yes i agree somehow being evil is more fun especially in infamous 
I thought I read somewhere that you could only choose pre-existing superheros/supervillians (ie. batman / joker), and couldn't create your own. Huh. guess I was wrong?
Regardless, this sounds SO much like City of Heroes, although I think the same guys are making this, or involved in some way? Otherwise it feels like a sequel to me, I can't view videos since I'm capped. I hated City of Heros/Villians gameplay, it just felt weird, your character was too light and.. it just wasn't right. They could do a good job with this, I hope they do.
