looks like i'm not very lucky with this generation's HD consoles,my Elite 360 hdmi port died after just 3 months & my 80gb PS3 rsx gpu died after 3 months too.i only want to know how many people out there had their consoles (ps3 or eggbox360) die within the 1st 12 months ?

tbh i thought ps3 was better built than just to die after 3 months with only 1 hour a day of usage (thx to kz2's awesome action my ps3 was unable to take the heat).

i think extended warranty is a must have when it comes to this gen hd consoles specially ps3 due to its high cost.

This is a fact to me: The only console (Including handhleds) that has not broken in the first year of having it is my PS3.
My 360 died about 3 times in the first year, my Wii overheated it's graphics chip from leaving it in WiiConnect24, my PSP had too many dead pixels, my DS screen broke when I dropped a plug ontop of it, my PS2 stopped reading discs and my PS1 done the same and I had to flip it upside down to work. Even my phones, TV's and iPod's have broke in the first year but the PS3. I know, it's weird and I'm unlucky like that.

Don't take this the wrong way wiipass but did you not make a topic 2 days titled Thank god I sold it (or something like that) and said you sold your PS3 and upgraded you PC to play PC games so if you sold it how is it broken now?

Mine died 7 months after i got it but i got a new one the same day.

Mine died the day firmware 2.4 came out.... it killed it T_T

Unfortunatly, any bit of consumer electronics, when put in an enclosed space, or subjected to cigarette smoke will usually kill itself very quickly.

Before assuming it's down to a manufacturing fault, you might want to look closer to home.
