Defence Secretary Liam Fox has slammed a computer game which allows players to kill British troops as a Taliban insurgent as 'tasteless'.

Mr Fox called for the game to be banned and said the idea of recreating Taliban attacks on allied soldiers was disgusting.

'I am disgusted and angry. It's hard to believe any citizen of our country would wish to buy such a thoroughly un-British game.

'I would urge retailers to show their support for our armed forces and ban this tasteless product.'

But the thousands of games that have gone before where you kill other nationalities are fine, I presume? :/

He can try, but since MW2 got through fine, even though you kill civilians in that, I doubt anything will happen.

If MW2 and its airport scene, got through then i dont see why this cant. Its almost like saying, you can have taliban dying in the game, but not british soldiers, cos that would be un british!

It's the only reason this content ever made it into the game in the first place. Notoriety drives sales through the roof as RockStar can attest.

If someone is old enough to play this then they are old enough to make their own choices. It's not like they're real soldiers

I'm on the fence with this. Yes it's been done to kill people from other nations in the past, but they weren't current world events. It's like saying the many sick jokes we see about the death of someone famous too soon after the death (Michael Jackson anyone?). It's also VERY inconsiderate to the families that have lost loved ones to the Taliban, so yes, this game Hoyle be banned. Games of this nature should never be based on real life events. Someone will always be upset.

It's the multiplayer though, someone has to go the Taliban!

It's like cops and robbers when we were kids, one goes the cop the other the robber, there's always two sides.
