They take you out of the experience when playing a game (particularly atmospheric games) due to the pop-up nature of the silly things.

I want to disable them! How do i do this?

Just live with it

We all do. Besides  I enjoy getting trophys

That's a shame. I hope Sony sort this out for when Team Ico's next game (Trico/working title) comes out, as their games are all about the experience and i don't want to be interrupted while playing such a game.

I agree mate...

When your playing an adventure (ie an atmospheric game)  ....And the message pops "youve just unlocked an achievement/trophy !!"  .......It sort of blows the atmosphere.......

Its like watching a film and something pops up like "congratulations,you managed to watch the 1st half hour !! " ....
