Hi all,
Well coming up to Christmas I've been searching for a good game or two to get into. I've also come across a strategy guide for almost EVERY game now released. Furthermore, each one appears to have a 'collectors edition' as well!
Now I've not bought a SG in a long while, probably the last ones being MGS as the books were very detailed and even helped with the story. So I was wondering if anyone here still buys them? - just to get more out of the game? or to get that 100% complete status...

dont see the point in them anymore due to the amount of info readily available from the internet
u can find anything u need to know about pretty much any game nowadays
Pretty much this but sometimes, for the right price, you can get a really decent SG that also looks the part and you can see that alot of effort has gone into the presentation and such. I'll only buy them if i get a hardon from the game. Just for that little bit extra.

I do, but don't use them as a strategy guide just like the stuff they sometimes put in. Like the Metal Gear 5 limited one, got a cool limited artwork thing with it.

Nah. I find they're pretty pricey. Although helpful and good for big games I just love the whole finding out by yourself thing.
I was offered a Skyrim guide for a extra £10 but thought.nah.It takes away all the excitement of stumbling on a camp of giants and thinking " Oh sh*t .... COOL " and then thinking " LET'S GET IT ON !!! " If i had the guide and knew before hand takes away that surpise and your' all like " Ahh this is that camp i saw in the book oh well might aswell do this".
I like my surpises to be free ! Even if they do lead to me being killed over and over again hahaha.
