Re: Dust514: Pay for beta but still have NAD?

[ Edited ]

Dust 514 revolves around microtransactions unlike other subscription based MMOs. How are they supposed to test these work unless they make it available to the public? Its all part of the game and still needs to be tested fully.

There are plenty of people out there with money, that enjoy spending it on games to play and have fun with. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it a bad thing. No one ever has a gun to your head in the gaming world :smileywink:

If people want to buy extras to play in the beta then so be it. Let them enjoy themselves... Sheesh.

And as stated the beta is still FREE to play and test! I played it over the weekend and never once had to spend any of my money! It is optional for those who want a bit of an upper hand so to speak.

Please use plain text.

you got your code for free, what about the users who didnt get one or didnt know about the home giveaway it isnt optional for them?

if they want to help test this unfinished product they would need to pay 13.99 to gain access, buying any of the cheap dlc doesnt get you access to the beta (according to the store description) thats why this reeks of greed..

as for trying to justify paying for content so they can test the store system they could have done that without the need to pay real money...dc universe didnt need to charge people real money to test how their system handled transactions/xp/gear, playstation home didnt ask people to pay real money for the store while it was in testing (home is built for microtransactions)  the items were free for the purpose of  testing,we were even allowed to keep the items upon release as a thankyou...

my gripe isnt about them releaseing a beta my gripe is that it appears they have released old code with the intent of making money from it not for testing purposes,in my opinion that is not what a beta is or for..

if they had released the full game but with a disclaimer explaining that this is still a work in progress then i wouldn't have anything to complain about, but no they released an old build of the game with features missing disguised it as a beta in a bid to make some quick cash from those who are supposed to be testing and from those who didnt know any better who wants to help test/try out their product.

it appears the devs/publishers of dust think we owe them for the privilege of testing their game when  its us gamers that are doing them the favour..

by doing this they have basicly told gamers they see us as this guy more than a potential customer who is helping test their product...  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyYtAUJSneQ
