This is highly relevant to PS3 given the number of titles on PS3 which is why I posted it here.
They even beat bank of America in the final round. Runners up in the picture below

Gamers are a whiny breed ![]()
This all happened just because Mass Effect 3 was released recently and people are still upset about the ending.
And the ending do suck, it's horrible, but to consider the ending of a fictional entertainment product more evil than Bank of America which happily destroy lives to make money, is frankly insane.
The bank's list of victims goes on and on. The disabled? Just a few weeks ago, the government charged Bank of America with violating the Fair Housing Act by illegally requiring proof of disability from people who rely on disability income to make their mortgage payments. Minorities? Last December, the bank settled with the Justice Department for $335 million over Countrywide's practice of dumping risky subprime loans on qualified black and Hispanic borrowers. The poor? In South Carolina, Bank of America won a contract to distribute unemployment benefits through prepaid debit cards – and then charged multiple fees to jobless folk who had the gall to withdraw their money from anywhere other than a Bank of America ATM. Seriously, who hasn't this bank conspired to defraud? Puppies? One-eyed Sri Lankans?

Good points Alestes, it puts matters into perspective somewhat.
I'm not sure if this proves EA's (among others) DRM and first day DLC policies are starting to really grate or if there are a great many gamers out there with a very insubstantial grasp of reality (regarding ME3).
Probably a bit of both.

A completely undeserved win. If anything the people that voted simply voted what effected them more as opposed to which company really is the worst. To say EA is worse than Bank of America as well as some of the others that appear there is simply ridiculous.
In what way are these others worse?
EA introduced the online pass and day 1 DLC model, effectively killing the pre-owned game market which in turn is now hitting retailers that relied on it to boost their income which in turn puts people out of work. All to ensure they can scrape up every little piece of profit they can and to hell with the customers.
Next console cycle should be interesting as their may well be nowhere to promote them on the high street outside of the supermarkets. As for games, well I fully expect them all to move to mainly electronic distribution where they will be able to charge what the want and not what the consumer wants.

...really? How is EA worse than a company that fraudulently forecloses thousands of homes (Bank of America), potentially ruining many people's lives? It's worse than a company that may significantly endanger lives (Monsato)? Worse than a cable company which in many areas is the only option and has terrible customer report, fluctuating bills and throttles internet speed and very high prices because for many they are the only option while both companies supposedly have paid large amounts of money for political favours (Comcast, AT&T)? When a company has abhorrent working conditions for it's employees (Apple [also, yes I'm aware other companies probably use the same factories, Sony probably included in that and they're not excluded from the criticism either])? A company that has it in it's terms and conditions that if a buyer believes a product to be counterfeit that they should destroy it without even checking themselves (Paypal) while numerous stories also exist of them freezing accounts unfairly? And all of those is annoying how the banks contributed to ruining the economy. Yes, the American economy is certainly not the worst there is but to ignore the hugely negative impact the banks have had (even excluding other business practices) is simply mad.
Yes, EA are bad, probably the worst gaming company there is by setting anti-consumer practices and damaging the industry. But if you're trying to tell me that rushing out bad games (which in turn lowers the quality of the games), releasing Day One DLC (and Capcom is far worse when it comes to DLC) and online passes make it far worse than any of those other companies is simply deluded. They are a terrible company, but definitely not worse than most of the others there.
