Ezy Ryder Vs Quidity

For those of you not familiar with pre-paid credit cards, their basically cards you use like a mobile phone, you top them up, and can only use whats on them, for a small fee. I have one specifically for internet shopping as its completely unrelated to my bank account. Mine was connected to the network.

On the 17 th of May, I checked my balance. I had 2.22 left. Obviously, this was during the outage, so I couldnt exactly spend that. On the 18th of May, someone had topped their PSN account up with a fiver, putting my card into a minus balance. No big deal right? So i got on to the card company, got them to cancel the card, n had them email me disputed transaction forms, which I filled in, with as much detail as I possibly could mind you, and sent to them on Friday, which would have roughly arrived on Saturday gone. Today I get this email: (my comments in italics)

Dear Mr. *******,

Thank you for returning your Disputed Transaction form and for your patience during our investigations.

Regretfully, we will be unable to progress or refund your dispute. After thorough investigation, we believe the disputed transaction may have been undertaken by you. A thorough investigation in roughly five hours? Clever boys!

If you are able to provide further evidence on this matter we will be happy to investigate this further. Why yes, I can, you'll be getting it shortly.

At present, we can only recommend that you contact the merchant for a refund if the transaction should not have cleared. Passing the buck then are we?

Now, surely I'm not the only one that sees the outright accusation here? Do they really think id be hacking the network, using my own card, then claiming it back?!?! How stupid do they think I am?

Sent this back:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am unsure as to what your "thorough" investigation entailed, as if your investigators paid any attention to current affairs, they would know that the Merchant in question had a security breach on 21/04/11, as I already stated in my form. They were therefore offline until /01/06/11, and it is impossible for me to have made that transaction as a result of this. Approximately 77 million card details were stolen, one of which was mine, and as I have thoroughly investigated my purchase and transaction history with them myself, nothing at all appears on 18/05/11, which as I said anyway, is impossible for me to have made. I do not expect a refund as it was only a small amount anyway, all I want is the negative balance cleared as soon as possible. I suggest your investigators, take a look at the following links.

Kind Regards
Chris *******
If they reply in this accusing manner again I'll be taking it to the press, as I was taught to look after my money, and would NEVER let a negative balance occur! Moral of the story? Stay away from Qudity boys n girls. And also, dont believe the words "thorough" and "investigation"

Re: Ezy Ryder Vs Quidity

So what your saying is on the 18th may the day Psn was taken down someone used your card to add funds to Psn.

I have a pre pay credit card & it is impossible to put a pre pay card in arrears as you only have access to funds on your card.

If i were you i would check your outgoings properly to save your save from looking completely stupid.

And credit card details weren't stolen only other account details.

Re: Ezy Ryder Vs Quidity

The transaction date was the 18th of May, approx. one month since the store and network went down, so how could I have used it on the store? I know exactly what my outgoings are as I print out every recipt I get from online shopping, and if its impossible, why does my current balance say -£2.21

Re: Ezy Ryder Vs Quidity

Try checking the web site you got your card from as if it's anything like the one i use they have all your transactions on the site so you can follow them.

Just because you printed of all your purchases it doesn't mean it will be accurate as i'm so sure your have to make a micro transaction with each purchase.

Re: Ezy Ryder Vs Quidity

Oh you mean the online card statement I checked every second day? As well as the paper one I have sent to me every month? Hmmm, never thought of that, or got any information from it whatsoever.
