FW3.50 Has Speeded up the XMB!

[ Edited ]

I can't really explain it in words.. but I was just using the PS3 before updating & then I updated to the latest firmware & everything feels ALOT MORE snappier & fast .. like when you & go into & use the different sections like "System" & going into the browser.. & just randomly moving through all of the XMB menus

Speed improvements have definately been introduced with this new firmware, I assure you. I use my PS3 all the time & I am able to notice the difference so quickly because of that.

Share your feedback on this as well please.. 'cause I know I'm not wrong about this, I 100% see a difference.

I own a PS3 Slim 250GB Slim

Re: FW3.50 Has Speeded up the XMB!

Firmware Updates nearly always produce a quicker/more responsive XMB because during the update process the OS Cache is deleted. Over time though as you continue to use your PS3 as normal it will gradually slow down again.

I see.. Okay, well then that might explain it then..

But anyway, I will continue to monitor the speed over the next few months as I use & play on the PS3 & then I shall report back on my findings on whether speed has decreased or not.

Yes and no. In recent updates mine has speeded up that much at all. Looking forward to trying this one out.

Agreed, and posting that on the official forums. Pirates never cease to amaze me.
