Peter Hines of Bethesda Games has gone on record to PSU saying that Fallout 3 will not be supporting trophies at launch. But he also does not rule out implementing them sometime after the launch.

"Not at launch. It remains to be seen what we do down the road. It wasn't something we were able to incorporate into the game for launch."

exactly, they totally suck. they should be trying right now to get them in for launch, not 'maybe thinking about it ten years later'.

Why o why are they not compulsory

Have develeopers not realised that any game released with trophies at this early stage will always sell well
