For some reason my system keeps giving me loads of reminders about game version updates.  It used to only ask when loading a game but now it pops up every couple of minutes during gameplay.  This is really annoying especially as i have lost progress twice now when the message has popped up the instant before i press 'X' in a game meaning it quits the game and starts downloading the update.

I guess the answer is to keep updating when first asked or to disconnect from the internet but has anyone else experienced this or know why this process may have changed?

read something the other day that said people only update software to stop annoying messages from popping up all the time, not because they actually want the latest version lol. guess its true for PS3 games aswell

not sure its changed that much over time, seems to have always been kinda the same. though maybe it depends if the game accesses online content in the background, then maybe that speeds up the frequency of the notification.

if its a new game its sometimes best to put off patching the game straight away, what with installs and other stuff when first starting up, can sometimes mess it around. but after that its always usually best to just update as soon as possible so you dont get any interuptions.

When playing burnout I was prompted 3 times, though it gave up after that. If I really don't want an update though I just need to disable internet. It's only one toggle
