Hi this my first time on forum but i really need help. My PS3 has started freezing 20 to 60 minutes into gameplay, never had this problem before and only started since got the 4.10 update on Tuesday. I've tried a quick format and a full format and that hasn't done a thing. I've had the unit for about 4 months and its replacement from sony (first unit broke down after 2 and half years blu-ray failure). Every thing else works fine, can watch blu-ray and DVD no problem. The freeze also seem to happen quicker when playing MW3 online. Any incite into this would very much appriciated.

This had also occured to me before the update completely took out my disk drive. My PS3 doesn't read anything anymore. ![]()

I have found that the IMPROVED browser is actually worse.
This might only be on my setup but I find it far more unstable & prone to freezing. Also when I close it my XMB often vanishes for a while before coming back. Same thing happens to a friend.
It was never great but it definitely has not been improved in my case.

I don,t think your problems have anything to do with the update, purely coincidence, and as for the browser it is what it is,i have to say i have been having an issue with the"not enough memory"when trying to load webpages and have seen replies telling people to turn of Javascript which is not really helpfull when a lot of webpages actually use javascript , iplayer for instance but i haven,t really tried since 4.10 so will have to check.

The XMB will vanish after quiting the browser while pages are loading or during video playback since i found that to be the cause not had a problem since it probably helps that i don't use my ISP's default crappy DNS servers and wired and DMZ on the PS3.

If the XMB vanishes when you close the browser, hold the PS button until the "turn off controller, turn off system" menu comes up, then close that menu. The XMB reappears.
Like magic.

Yes, I have the same problem. I did the update before 2 hours and since then my ps3 freezes all the time when I am playing. Before that I didn't had any problems at all. This is ridiculous !!!!!!

I had the same problems, my solution was trying to "reupdate" using a PC. (An offline method with a USB memory). Right now all is working fine again.
Here are the instructions:

Just guessing, maybe the reinstall corrects some files that got corrupted during the first update. Hope this helps
