Re: Games you have instantly given up on?

Ah, AC Revelations is another that i have yet to completely play, i played it for an hour or so, but just found it to be a chore in comparison to AC2 and Brotherhood. Will give it a fair shot and complete the story, mainly for the Desmond arc ready for AC3, but its 1 that i have yet to actually get into

I forgot to mention, I've Dead Space 2 sat her half completed which I'm struggling to put in my machine. It just feels like a chore to play going down the same old corridors, or crawling through the identical maintenance hatch's and going round in circles..

You can see Vicseral started running out of ideas, hence the drastic approach to Dead Space 3which I'm kind of looking forwards to in the hope it breathes new life into the franchise.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

Complicated gameplay and a lot of wandering around to do. Makes for a boring gaming session.

Some people may dis-agree here; but I've also given up on FPS games, They all seem generic and lack any real detail within them like curves on buildings, cars etc and the story element is none existent.

Spec Ops: The Line is meant to be good, different from the generic fps.

edit : Story wise, perhaps not gameplay wise.

It would be different from an FPS because it's a TPS. :smileytongue:

Anyway, for me, I gave up on both ICO and SOTC not long after starting them. Two of the most overrated games of all-time.

The story's very good, gameplay not so much. Very short as well. Would recommend a rental or getting it when it's very cheap.

Re: Games you have instantly given up on?

MW3. It was a gift and I had been playing BF3 quite a lot. MW3 in and went for a game online - Entered a game and got destroyed by a guy in a frickin steel suit then I gave up. The gameplay is so slow compared to BF3 but I eventually played through the campaign just for the sake of the story. It just sucks so bad compared to BF3, its also the most expensive game and for what, the same as last year. Never buying call of duty ever again.

Re: Games you have instantly given up on?

With PS+ I made sure todownload Outland thinking it would be good to get on, but my god I found it tedious. I thought the intergration of the puzzles would be good along the side scrolling action, but I just found it to be so boring, so there we go, that was a shame. I also don't enjoy Darksiders very much and was really annoyed with all of the DLC for LA Noire after how much I enjoyed the main game.

Re: Games you have instantly given up on?

I forgot about burnout: paradise. I got it last year after all the psn hoo ha and it was the ps+ free thing that month, I didn't like it. I managed about 45 minutes. I know a lot of people like it but a bit of the map being locked off, as far as I could tell unless you bought some dlc or something (also being the portion of the map which included the garage so I could get a better car :smileyindifferent:)

I went in remembering how awesome burnout 3 was, this game was not the same. Perhaps my expectations were wrong but when you remember spending god knows how long on the old burnout games, have EVERYONE telling you how good it is you expect something more than the crappy racing bits of gta with cars that handle just as badly.

The music was good though.
