Why is two men holding hands offensive?
I'm straight but if I saw two men holding hands in public it wouldn't bother me at all.

It just makes me feel uncomfortable maybe it's a physiological thing on my part but I don't like it,on the other hand if it's two women then I say go for it .

My brother is 47 and has been out from his teen years and went through hell , as you can imagine here in Ireland 47 years ago things were a lot different for Gay men and women than it is today and whilst Gay rights here have come a long way I still find it offensive and I make no apology for it.
My brother and every other gay person I know realises this and never do anything such as hold hands or anything else whilst in my company not in fear of a reaction from me but because they respect me and I respect them.
Then I feel really sorry for your brother and am really grateful that my brother is a better person, I may even make him feel uncomfortable tonight by giving him a big tender loving hug.
Your view is not live and let live and it's laughable you think that, your view is live and let live but it's wrong so don't talk about it, which if you could apply some logical thought to it,isn't tolerant at all. If you have a wife or girlfriend, have you ever held her hand in public or hown a bit of touching affection? If you have, then why do you think what you do is okay, but it would be wrong for your brother to do the same? Does he not have the same rights as you do? Making no apology for it does not make you a better 'strong' person, that is the definition of bigotry.
People used to say what you said about seeing mixed race couples, I wonder if you'd feel so bold spouting similar bigoted views about that?
I haven't joined this group, but meeting people like you online make a group like this have value and purpose.

It's just one little thread IV and I'm pretty sure the community team are aware of it and decided it was fine a long time ago.
Maybe just let it be?

If people want to keep it open then keep it open but put it in general as it has nothing whatsoever to do with this section of the forum. How about a meet new friends section on the forum ?

Woah woah woah, this thread started off well and everyone was having a bit of a good banter and then all of a sudden someone decided to lift the lid of their steaming trap.
Calm down jeeze louise. He wanted to meet some like minded people.
I hope this thread doesn't get locked; for once I want to see a thread that contains a hint of homosexuality to not get locked. Can the powers that be work their magical fingers and start doing a disappearing act on some posts?

This thread is fine in "general" because it's a topic that doesn't fit elsewhere. "General" is the default for topics which don't quite fit elsewhere. A thread being in general however, doesn't mean it's OK to go wildly off-topic by discussing things which are generally unrelated" to the OP.
This thread isn't about whether being gay is right or wrong. It's about gay gamers wishing to meet like minded people. If you want to discuss gay rights issues and how much various stereotypes bother you, then start a new thread instead of derailing this one.
