Ok last week my PS3 had a hardware failure, you know the one where you turn it on then it goes to a yellow light then a red flashing light.

Well my GTA disc is in there and i was wondering how I could get it out, already spoke to Sony and it's just passed the warrenty so I'm just going to purcahse a new one.

I'd like to get my GTA out though.

You're not being specific.

If you're buying a new console and you intend simply throwing the old one out then a large 8lb hammer should work to retrieve the disc. If you meant you're paying Sony the £145 for a replacement console then you tell them there's a disc in the broken machine and in about 2 months they'll finally send you a replacement.

you could try encouraging it out with a bit of cheese, if that don't work you will have to take it apart i think.

If I remember correct when a solid red light is on the PS3. Press and hold the eject button now still holding the eject button turn the PS3 off by the switch at the back for 10 seconds. Now after 10 seconds and still holding the eject button switch the PS3 back on with the button at the back of the PS3 and your disc should spit out.

If your game is stuck try powering it off from the back switch, hold down the eject button while the system is off and then keep the finger on the eject button and power it back on from the back again keep the finger held down and it should eject the disc.  Keep us posted how you get on bud

Just tried this a few times, still no luck yet.

Yeah, if your just going to throw the old one out, then smash it up and get your disc out first.

If you are writing the old machine off, then you could just remove the case and disassemble the Blu-ray drive to get the disc out. Which is what I'd do personally.

I think I'll disassemble it I mean if the warranty has already run out it won't matter.
