Hello, I'm thinking about getting a PS3 in June and my friend was telling me that I could use game saves as long as I'm not going for trophies. I'm posting this because he could be lieing.

I don't know that it would work having never tried such a thing but no, there's no way you could get banned for doing it.

I always used to borrow mates PS memory cards and swap game saves for games to open up all the content etc. Wouldn't think of doing it now as I take gaming more seriously, but getting banned for it? That would be pretty ridiculous lol.

its fine, you'll just get a message 'you did not earn a trophy' or in gta's case if your using a old save or someone elses it will say 'trophies disabled' you will have to start a new game as your own enable you to earn the trophies.

aren't  ps3 game saves usually linked to one account. a few years back, i tried to use the game save of burnout paradise from my main account on another account and it wouldn't  work on the other account.

That's what i thought to, that game saves are linked to the account.

This is true, I took Yakuza 4 and my save data round a friends for them to try it and for me to continue with the game but that was when the PSN went down for ages and it wouldn't let me use the save file without signing in but that might have just been Yakuza 4
