I have to agree with Krisaim here, there is very little to moan about in this demo. (its a demo its free *****) anyway it gives us a snippet of the actual game and from the demo i can see that the graphics are decent the framerate good, sound good and gameplay good in fact its all good. The thing that make this game even better will be the story and the interesting nectar stuff as well as being able to switch sides.
And yes the demo is longer than five minutes, not that it matters what with it being a demo and all, which did i mention is free?

The "Hammy acting" is all down to them being jacked up on Nectar and just saying stupid random stuff about how great they are etc. Even when the bloke dies he says he's a boxer, he's lost his mind. They are all pumped up on a drug that makes then feel invinsable. (download the dev interview from the store and he explains about the troops 'arrogance')
While the graphics don't blow you away the framerate is the smoothest I've seen on PS3. When has it been about graphics? Gameplay anyone? The demo doesn't even touch on the sneaky gameplay that will come into the game when you set the troops on each other and play dead etc. It's a small taste of the game. The guns are good and the sound is fantastic.
This is the demo from July last year that was first shown, (see Gametrailers) The co-op will be great fun online and if the online V's modes are as smooth as the online co-op then it will be great.
I'm looking forward to it.
And where does the op get less than 5 mins gameplay??? Did he turn it off after the first shootout?
Bottom line, it's a demo but this if Free Radical we're talking about not some back street first timer. Haze will be good.
Yes, the Nectar turns the troops arrogant, feeling they're invincible and killing and blowing the **** out of anything and everything without a conscience.
Before the Demo came out I thought this was going to be the next must have FPS, trailers I have seen showed a fast-paced, dynamic shooter and I really intended to get it. They screwed up on the Demo, though. It does play like a million other generic FPS games you can get on the PC and the Nectar system is just an annoyance.
I feel that the Demo has put more people off who were going to get it, than attract people who weren't. And there's no excuse that it's just a Demo, look at Resistance:FOM, the Demo showcases 2 of the best levels in the game, including boss battles.

Setting: Ubisoft HQ's Marketing Department
Plot: Head of Marketing(HOM) and some Execs have just called a meeting to discuss the final Marketing strategies for "Haze".
HOM: OK guys, everyone is hyped about this new Free Radical game, Haze, it's had some great previews in the press and at gaming industry events and the gaming public are getting excited about. How can we drive this one home and really make people think this is the next "Must Have Game"?
Exec 1: Why don't we release a Demo of a recent build of the game that shows how truly brilliant the game is?
HOM: *****! (They're French, I think)
Exec 2: I know! We'll release a really boring Demo using a year old build of the game that plays like *****.
HOM: Excellent (In a sinister villain voice not in a Bill and Ted voice [and with a French accent])
I can't swear in French!? ***** = poo poo

I will be the first to admit that I wasnt really expecting much from Haze so it wasnt even on my list to buy! After playing the demo tho, I really really like it. Its not in the same league as COD4 but I dont think much will be in the FPS shooter genre again!!!
The graphics were smooth, the jungle was lush, good gameplay and the Nectar seems to be a good twist.......I o'd and my character went mental and starting shooting uncontrollably!!!!!
I cant wait to read the reviews of the latest build ( think its going on my buy list!!!!)

all i did was run and gun. got bored and turned it off.
my reaction might have been affected by wanting to get back on GTA4 after a long day at work, but there was nothing in this demo to make me want to buy Haze come release day. i will wait for the reviews.
